Free admission to Woman Life Freedom - Iranian Women's Resistance

On March 8, International Women’s Day, we open the doors for free from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to the exhibition Woman Life Freedom – Iranian Women’s Resistance (registration required).

The exhibition shows how women in Iran resist oppression and violence. Their fight for freedom and equality isn’t happening in isolation — it’s part of a global movement for women’s rights and human rights.

Make a protest sign & join the Feminist March

At the front hall of the museum, there’s space to make protest signs together. Get creative, write your message, and make your voice heard!

Visitors joining the Feminist March can grab a (vegan) snack or sandwich.

🕧 12:30 – Meet at the museum for departure
🕐 13:00 – Feminist March starts at Dam Square

Do you need help coming up with or phrasing what to put on your protest sign? Nilou Yekta will be there to provide context and think along with you.

Nilou Yekta is a PhD candidate at Utrecht University. In her research, she focuses on secularity, gender, and resistance in contemporary Iran, with particular attention to the Woman, Life, Freedom movement and the role of digital media.

Amnesty International will be present

In the morning, Amnesty International will also be present. They invite visitors to sign petitions in support of women in Iran who are being severely punished for peaceful protest:
